This opportunity seeks a Director of Pharmacy to oversee and lead multi-state pharmacy operations with a focus on regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and quality improvement. The role involves strategic leadership across multiple pharmacy locations, ensuring adherence to all state and federal regulations while enhancing financial performance and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day pharmacy operations across several states, ensuring full compliance with state pharmacy boards, Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other regulations.
- Provide strategic direction, oversight, and support to pharmacy managers, supervisors, and teams.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing pharmacy staff to maintain operational excellence.
- Develop, implement, and maintain consistent pharmacy policies, workflows, and operational standards.
- Chair quality review committees and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance, evaluate business operations, and implement cost-control strategies.
- Maintain productive relationships with vendors and manufacturers to ensure availability of products, competitive pricing, and high service quality.
- Foster collaboration, effective communication, and organizational change initiatives.
- Represent the organization professionally, upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–7 years of pharmacy-related experience with a minimum of 4 years in leadership or management roles.
- Strong expertise in pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, Board of Pharmacy requirements, and healthcare reimbursement programs.
- Proven experience in performance management, process improvement, and quality assurance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, coaching, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze complex business and regulatory data, manage multiple priorities, and drive organizational outcomes.
- Multi-state pharmacy licenses are required.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
